BRINGING BACK 1790: A LIVING HISTORY

Wood goes in, wood goes out. Nine dumpsters and counting, the restoration work has been daunting and  truly a labor of love.  From matching trim profiles damaged by years of life, looking for clues to the original floor plan,  finding original paint and outbuilding placements, we have become history sleuths. It has been extremely important to us to maintain as much plaster as possible, as much of the original flooring, walls and trim. This is not a gut and redo but a careful rematching and restore. Yes it takes more time, and yes it has cost more, but we feel this is part of our history , the American history worth preserving forever.  Watch our blog for current projects with before and after photos.
